Mental Health Month | Music

A great way to take care of yourself and relax is through sitting down and listening to some amazing live music with friends, so we’ve set up a few free events just for that…

On Thursday 4th October there’s our first Ember Live Lounge, a great opportunity to kick back and listen to live free music to end your day on a high. This month’s guest star is Simon Davies (Star of The Voice 2018) alongside amazing student performer Jools Hughes who kickstarts the night at 8pm.

Check out Simon’s ‘Blind Audition’ from the voice here...

If once a month isn’t enough for you, we also have the first of our weekly Coffee House Sessions starting on Monday 8th October at Verve. This lunchtime gig holds the best up and coming live acts starting with Amy Lawton.

Give Amy’s single 'Hurts Like Paradise,' a listen and we’ll see you for our lunch time relax at 1:30pm in Verve.

Feeling like a venture outside the world of Staffs? KeeleSU is hosting 3 great gigs this month and offering Staffs Students special prices...

Starting with ‘Mel C’s 90’s Mixtape,’ (Saturday 6th October) which will be nothing but 90s bangers all night, expect to hear everything from The Spice Girls to Oasis to Biggie.

Next up ‘The Sherlocks,’ (Saturday 13th October) will be bringing Indie Rock to the Students Union with ‘driving guitar riffs and melodic lyrical hooks.’

And finally, ‘From The Jam,’ (Thursday 18th October) will be playing alongside arguably Britain’s Leading Rhythm and Blues Band ‘Nine Below Zero.’
