OMG, One Media Group, is a the Students' Union media station, led by our expert students. Chris stepped up as Station Manager this year and has had an incredible influence on the work of this team. They've achieved some great things, particularly through networking. Thank you Chris, for making us Proud to be Staffs.

Christopher Steers's Story

"Chris Steers has taken the role of OMG Radio manager this year to the next level, he has consistently striven to raise the station profile, and levels of professionalism. He has promoted the Union and University at every opportunity, sought opportunities for collaboration, and risen to a range of challenges. As an RLM he has also improved links between the station and Reslife and negotiated an increase in the locations on campus where the station is played out. He has established and utilised industry contacts to help raise the profile of OMG and enlisted the help of BBC Radio Stoke and Signal 1 presenters to support in the upcoming new committee recruitment, aiming to provide professional, industry level feedback for student development. Whilst he has worked hard on OMG, he has also delivered in his role as RLM - organising Stargazing events for students, and online events during lockdown. Finally, his award winning programme that achieved coveted SRA award has helped to put Chris and OMG on the national Student Radio map. "
