Proud to be Staffs Story: PC Simon Stone

Police Community Liaison Officer, Staffordshire Police

Simon Stone is one of our campuses' unsung champions, who works tirelessly to support our University community to be the best it can be. His efforts as our liaison officer with the Staffordshire Police make our community safer and friendlier, and that's certainly something to be proud of. Thank you Simon, for making us Proud to be Staffs.

PC Simon Stone's Story

"I'd like to nominate PC Simon Stone for his passion for improving our local community through providing opportunities for students to volunteer in the Cop Shop. For a busy police officer, nothing is too much trouble for Simon, he always makes time to support his student Cop Shop volunteers as he encourages and supports each of them. Simon empowers the volunteers to develop their ideas in shaping campaigns and provides the right balance of guidance and flexibility to enable volunteers to develop both skills and confidence. He is a champion of both social and environmental sustainability as he worked with University colleagues to support a local litter pick - promoting both improved relations within the local community and a greener environment. Simon is bursting with more ideas for opportunities that he plans to put in place for the Cop Shop volunteers once the covid restrictions allow and I'm sure that even more students will benefit from the Cop Shop in the next academic year."

We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display you story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
