Proud to be Staffs Story: Sam Ellis

Student, School of Creative Arts and Engineering

Taking care of our local community and environment through digilent volunteering, Sam Ellis, turned his academic placement into an opportunity to better support the area in which he lives. Thank you Sam, for making us Proud to be Staffs.

Sam Ellis's Story

"Sam approached the SU wanting to do something to help tidy up the local area and benefit the natural environment. The Union equipped Sam with the tools a PPE to go out and about. He carried out 9 hours of voluntary litter picks in the Shelton area over a weekend to help make our city a more pleasant neighbourhood. Sam's work also helps to reduce pollution and litter in the local environment. It was fantastic to see that Sam was thinking about ways to help to local area and the environment when carrying out voluntary work. "
