Are you an Apprentice or Studying a Post Grad Diploma on a Policing Course?
Perhaps you've been a Course Rep this year, and have enjoyed the contributions you've been able to make to our University?
Looking to enhance your networking and communication skills?
Then you should consider becoming one of our first ever Force Representatives!
Your Students' Union and the University are piloting a new approach developed specifically for the Institute of Policing. Force Reps are absolutely nothing to do with Star Wars and will instead represent all students across the four Police Forces that Staffs' partners with: Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Mercia and West Midlands - whether you study on the DHEP, DC DHEP courses or the PCDA Apprenticeship.
Following the introduction of a Department Rep this year, its clear that the scale and variety of forces, cohorts and rotations makes it incredibly difficult for any one student to connect with Apprentice Officers across the breadth of the Institute of Policing, so we'll instead be creating an opportunity for two apprentices in each Force to become the Force Rep.
Your job as a Force Rep is to connect with Course Reps and collate your peers' feedback and experiences to shape changes the University and Forces will make to enhance your time studying. You'll receive online training and support from the Voice Team who will help you to be effective in the role, and by working with a partner workload (such as attending meetings) can be shared to make this voluntary opportunity manageable alongside your intense schedules.
As you will be elected by your peers as part of the Leadership Race, you have a great opportunity to promote yourself prior to starting the role and to engage with other students and Your Union along the way.
