A photograph of Joseph Knight (full-time officer) pointing, while holding a megaphone, in front of dark blue text that reads JOSEPH: MY UPDATES15/07 - Last week, I attended the Staffs Uni London Graduation Ceremony at Hackney Church. It was a really well prepared day where students and staff alike were able to have a great time. I also attended the first meeting of the new Here East Student's working group, as the previous reps had graduated, and we plan to have everything in place by welcome week!

22/07 - Last week I attended some graduation ceremonies in Stoke, where I got to meet with a wide variety of staff that have helped students from a great spread of courses. I also had another catch-up regarding a Game Expo I hope to host at the uni next year!

05/08 - Last week I attended Lead and Change in Birmingham, where I got develop my skills as an officer and network with SABs from all across the UK! I also got to deliver a talk there about how universities can better support their satellite campuses.

12/08 - Last week I had a bunch of meetings with people in Cyber Security and also Indie Game Devs to prepare for our upcoming events at the start of term! I also attended GDLX where I was able to meet up with Staffs alumni who work in the games industry and cheer them on when they won multiple awards during the awards ceremony at the end of the event!

19/08 - It was quite busy in London last week! We had a successful open day where the Students' Union got to interact with prospective students. I had one of the last Here East Student Group meetings before welcome week, where we put all the final plans in place. I also attended some training with our Voice team about listening, speaking, and how to present myself!

25/08 - All of us officers have been engaging with continuous monitoring sessions recently, where we have been making sure the university have been listening and acting upon the feedback given in your course committee meetings (mine was for Social Work, Law and Criminology). In addition, I had a chat with the university about how we should implement calm zones for students during welcome week to give them a quiet place to go if they should require it.
