As part of the UK wide “Ask Angela” initiative and the Safety of Women and Girls campaign introduced by the Metropolitan Police, Here East will be introducing a bespoke service to support ALL tenants and visitors when leaving the Campus if required. Provisions for support are detailed below:
Check Calls
Anyone travelling offsite can request check calls with security 24/7, If you require this, please follow the below process:
- You are to phone the Security Control Room on 0203 861 6860 informing the Control Room Operator that you require the check call service, you will then be asked to state the address of your destination, expected arrival time, contact details and a description of what you’re wearing. Our Operator will make a note of this information.
- You should then contact the Security Control Room once you have arrived at your destination to confirm safe arrival.
Please see the below as an example:
You are leaving the campus heading to Hackney Wick station and require the check call service.
Operator – “Hello security control room X speaking, how may I help?”
You – “Hello my name is X, and I would like to use the check call service”
Operator – “Can you please state your Name, Contact number, Destination address, Expected arrival time and a description of what you’re wearing please?”
You – “My name is X, contact number is……, Destination is Hackney Wick station, Expected arrival time is 10 minutes and I’m wearing white trainers, blue jeans and grey jumper”
Operator – “Thanks X, this information is now noted. Please notify us when you arrive at your destination safely”
If you do not contact us by your expected arrival time the following steps will be taken:
If we do not hear from you by your expected arrival time, the Control Room Operator will phone you to confirm if you have reached your destination.
If you do not answer, the Control Room Operators are briefed to wait 5 minutes and perform a 2nd check call.
If you do not answer again, the Control Room Operator will wait a further 5 minutes to perform a 3rd check call.
If the 3rd check call isn’t answered, the Control Room Operator will then escalate it to the police confirming your name, contact number, expected destination, arrival time and the description of what you’re wearing.
Personal Car Park Escort
If you or your colleagues require an escort to the car park, they can contact our Security Control Room 10 minutes before leaving, and we’ll personally have a Security Officer escort you from your demise or nearest reception to the car park entrance. As an added measure, if you would like, you can phone the Security Control Room on 0203 861 6860 once you have arrived at the entrance and stay on the line with the Control Room until you’re safely in your vehicle.
