Covid-secure Campuses

Staff across the Union and University are currently working out the practicalities of how student life will work as each campus begins to reopen.

Different study sites and different areas, such as accommodation or catering, will have different processes in place to keep our community safe.

Timetabling Information

Last week the University announced they are working on September 2020 timetables for returning students. From the Saturday 15th August, students will be able to view their Welcome Week timetable via the MyStaffsUni app and the rest of the Semester will be available from the Monday 6th September.

As "face to face" teaching will vary across courses, they've recommended speaking to your Course Tutor if you have any questions.

In response, one person asked "Will we have to wear masks for the entire face to face session when on campus?". From what we can gather, the University will be following Government Guidance on this topic, with all students "welcome to wear them if they choose" and more clarification coming soon.

Sports Centre sets re-opening date

The Sports Centre has announced its provisional opening date of Tuesday 7th September.

Various students had been asking about the date for weeks:

"Please open the gyms again in July. Lots of us are still around and miss it greatly. Plenty of universities have put in extra measures and kept some gyms open."

The response from students was positive with people commenting that they'd be "banging on the door begging to get in!"
