As confirmed by the National Society of Apprentices, we're the first Union in the country to engage an Apprentice in this role.
Staffordshire University Students' Union is the first Students' Union in the country to have an Apprentice on their Trustee Board!
We're really pleased to report that we're the first Union in the country to engage one of our Apprentices in such a strategic role.
After their application was confirmed at the June meeting of the Trustee Board, Chris Norman was excited to become a Student Trustee after engaging with the Union via the
Leadership Race.
A Digital Solutions Apprentice, Chris is both studying with and employed by the University.
Following a video call between Union staff, Chris and the National Society of Apprentices (
NSOA), Chris received an invitation to the NSOA Leadership Team meetings, where it was confirmed he is the first Apprentice in the country to take such a role.
We're very excited to have Chris' input as part of the Board, who are ultimately responsible for the Union as an organisation, and we're feeling confident that the Apprentice perspective will better shape our work to suit these students.
Well done Chris!
