What is Give It A Go?

A "Give it a Go" is a free activity or event, typically ran by students, for free that students can get involved in. It gives you the opportunity to try before you buy... annual membership to a club or society.

It might also be a free session as part of the Union and University's events programme to help you make friends and try something new at absolutely no cost.

Examples of previous Give it a Go sessions:

  • Taster sessions with all of our clubs and societies
  • Local trips to places like Ninja Warrior Stoke and Clip'n'Climb
  • Escape rooms
  • Cooking and crafting on campus
  • "Outdoor cinema" style screenings

This isn't an exhaustive list, and we'd love to hear suggestions of what you'd like to see. Let us know by using the messenger app in the corner of our site.

During lockdown, we also hosted some online #GiveItAGo at home activities in our Facebook Covid Community Group, so you can rest assured that there will be something to do online and in person throughout your time here at Staffs.

Our 2020/21 #GiveItAGo programme is constantly updated... we're working with the University and our 80+ clubs and societies to provide you with a variety of fun, free and covid-safe activities.
