Swimming Club

Welcome to the Staffordshire University Swim Team!

Do you want to represent the university in swimming competitions, swim to keep fit or just looking for a way to meet new people? Either way the Staffordshire University Swim Team is perfect for you.

We hold three sessions a week at Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3:00 - 4:30 with designated lanes for competitive training, fitness and a social lane. We have a very relaxed atmosphere within our club and do not expect you to do anything you do not want to do.

For our competitive swimmers we are fortunate to have two qualified coaches in the squad, who will be taking the university sessions, as well as a link to local swimming club COSACSS who are giving us discounted membership so we can train with them as well. We would encourage anyone wanting to compete at BUCS (British University and College Sport) competitions to train with COSACSS.

For our social swimmers, our two qualified coaches will be on hand to design any session plans should you want to get fit or improve your technique. Or if you just want to turn up meet some new friends and paddle up and down your welcome to join.

In November and February, as a whole team, we go to Sheffield for the weekend for the BUCS nationals competition. Whether your competing or coming along for support it will be an experience you do not want to miss (especially the social side!). Throughout the year we will also be holding socials that include; nights out, bowling, meals and going to Water World in order to bring us closer together as a team.

GIVE IT A GO SESSION - the taster session is on the Friday 22nd September, we will meet by the Stanley Matthews Sports Centre reception at 14:15 when we will all walk to the pool together, this session will also involve time trials for anyone wanting to compete.
