Our Give it a Go session will take place at Stafford Leisure Centre Sunday 17th September 14:45 till 17:00, we will be meeting up in Verve beforehand.
This will be followed by another Meet and Greet again in Verve from 18:00 onwards when we get back from the pool.
We try to run frequent river trips in the surrounding area on weekends. Last year we've attended a Halloween Paddle at Trentham, ventured onto the smaller rivers just outside Stafford, the River Severn and the Lake District. We have been to the island of Islay in Scotland as well as the Great Glen Canoe Trail and hope to run an even bigger trip in the future! We try to give our members a diverse kayaking experience including paddling on lakes, rivers and the sea aswell as using a range of boats from racing kayaks to canoes, with potential links to other local clubs.
We aim to develop our members skills and we can progress you up the Star levels even if you have never paddled before. After you have a 2 Star award we can also put together a Foundation Safety and Rescue Training course so you can feel safer on the water and know the skills to perform rescues. After attending the FSRT you can progress onto a coaching qualification if that interests you. We work with various local clubs to improve our experiences and find courses of interest.
We're looking for more members this year, of all abilities, from beginners to the more advanced paddler. So come find us, have a chat and see what we do!
