Our aim as a society is to provide a safe, fun and commited enviroment to help teach and learn the grappling/strike arts that make up mixed martial arts. We will have a mixture of all skill levels in both disciplines (beginner/experienced) so everyone who attends and trains will be able to learn something. The objective of the society isn't to fight but to gain a solid understanding of the techniques and to gain a solid foundation of fitness and flexibility.
This is a strict 'no ego' society and the emphasis is to have a good place for everyone like-minded to train together. We also plan on running multiple socials such as nights out or live fight night sessions to watch fights together.
The disciplines (styles of fighting) that will be taught are predominantly Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling and Brazilian Jui Jitsu and the society will be structured so that complete beginners to higher levels can all benefit from the sessions.
We plan to structure the training sessions in two blocks of 1 hour twice a week and to rotate the disciplines where in each week we plan to increase and progress.
For those committed and willing to work hard, we will offer some 'in house rewards' but these will be exclusive to the society.
Equipment for the 'GIAG' sessions are not needed but a small amount of equipment is needed but this will be covered in the membership costs.
