Who are we?
Staffs First Aid Society is a society with a passion for learning about First Aid. We have weekly sessions discussing different areas of First Aid and we make use of the many resources available to us through the St John Ambulance, the nation's leading First Aid charity!
What do we do?
Through becoming a member of the society, you'll be able to come along to our sessions and increase your awareness of First Aid and the situations that may occur when First Aid is needed. We have lots of resources that you can access and (Covid restrictions permitting) you can try your hand at thing such as bandaging practice and even simulate giving CPR on our resuscitation mannequin! We are however, not qualified First Aid trainers; our sessions are very relaxed and aimed at increasing your interest in learning First Aid.
Society Plans
As our society grows and becomes more established, we intend to affiliate with St John Ambulance as a partnered society. We hope to invite qualified speakers onto campus and to arrange offical First Aid Training opportunities for our members. We believe that by bringing all of this together and facilitating official training for our members to gain qualifications, not only provides opportunities for members to make friends, and develop skills, but makes a great addition to you CV too!
