The Staffordshire University Conservative Society (SUCS) is a society for like-minded people looking to discuss politics in a friendly environment, alongside networking with others on campus.

Who are The Staffordshire University Conservative Society (SUCS)?

The SUCS was established in 2019 as a way for students of any political background to freely discuss politics in a friendly, safe and mature environment. Although our primary focus is towards networking with other Conservative students across the campus and providing opportunities to get involved in national projects we are accepting of members from any and all political backgrounds and beliefs as long as they ensure that they engage responsibly and maturely in all discussion and events we offer!

Whether you want to check out our weekly "Politics & A Pint" socials or are more interested in how you can get involved in politics yourself, then feel free to drop us an email or contact us on social media!

What we get up to:

  • We run regular social activities! Usually completely free of charge and open to all!

    • Aimed to allow students to discuss past, current and upcoming political affairs
    • Friendly and open discussions about the news and general world affairs.
    • We pride ourselves on being dynamic and inclusive, we will make adjustments to ensure all of our members have an equal opportunity to engage in our activities.
  • Trips & Events

    • Organising trips to visit iconic political places such as the Palace of Westminster.
    • Running charity fundraiser events in partnership with the Students' Union.
    • Promoting large scale events and enabling members to have access to information regarding all the latest national events.
  • Guest Speakers & Debates

    • We aim to try book local and national speakers for each semester to discuss their careers in politics and share some of their fantastic knowledge with our members.
    • We hope to run fair and inclusive debates within the society, these will be open to all of our members and we hope to maintain a semi-informal atmosphere

Our Current Memberships cost £3 per academic year (2019/20).

Pending decisions as to what is allowed and restricted due to COVID-19 Guidance we will adjust the sessions we provide accordingly.
