Work happening around the university:

Our Course Reps have been working hard to address the concerns raised to them by their cohorts regarding the recent building work happening around the university. The Reps worked with the SU to pull together a short list of concerns which the officers took to estates and are working to update students on the situation as it further develops!

Nursing Department Rep:

Our Department Rep Jemma has been very busy over the past few months, Jemma undertook a 5-week elective placement in Tanzania and reported the placement back to the Health Education England Student Council. Jemma has also applied for the role of congress with the royal college of nursing who are the worlds largest nursing union! Jemma has used her position to gather feedback from Course Reps to shape the experience of nursing students within the University and further afield.

Commercial Computing:

Students on the course disliked the new version of a module due to issues getting sponsors to come in and a lack of preplanning. The Department Rep, Aura, the Course Reps, and cohort worked together to revert the module back to its previous version which focused more on student personal profiles and a presentation within a group regarding an incubation hub. Within a matter of weeks, the cohort saw immediate change, resources were added to blackboard including marking scheme and further guidance. The students worked together with the course staff to positively impact cohorts for years to come!

Student voice module feedback:

We also have the module feedback that was released on the 1st – 15th of December. Our Course Reps have been pushing the feedback out to their cohorts! We also urge you to complete your module feedback as it helps to shape your course now and for the future.
