Lisa Benson's Story

"The support that Lisa has given me has not just been above and beyond my expectations but because she has genuine warmth plus and empathy. There is part of me that would like to nominate the whole ‘Well-Being’ team at ‘Staffs’ to thank them all.

It’s difficult for me to go into too much because it would involve talking about my own problems but I don’t know quite how else to express my gratitude as I don’t think words could ever do it. Lisa’s tireless work gives me that bit of hope and even just an occasional text message just to check that I’m okay, means the world to me as I’m someone who is isolated from the outside world my weekly ‘Teams’ meetings with Lisa is the only communication I with the outside world, especially with lockdown.

I cannot tell you how many times I have come across organisations and people who literally just do what they do because it is a job and do not see me as a human being. As I said above and to close, Lisa is one of the few people that I have met that genuinely cares, thoroughly deserves recognition for her dedication and is in my opinion a credit to Staffordshire University.. ."

We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display you story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
