Proud to be Staffs Story: Tim Davies
Senior Lecturer, School of Health Sciences and Education
Though for Tim, debriefing following a fatality would no doubt be a routine feature of their work, for a Student Paramedic their first patient death is a critical and career changing event. One of Tim's students recognised the support Tim provided following their first fatality and for making a big impact on their studies. Thank you, Tim, for making us Proud to be Staffs.
Tim Davies is a lecturer in Paramedic Science over at our Blackheath Lane Centre of Excellence and our story is from one of our alumni:
"I have had the pleasure of being taught by Tim for nearly two years on the paramedic degree programme. Tim has taught me a whole range of topics from cell biology all the way to how to perform emergency clinical procedures. Tim makes every lecture interesting, engaging and most importantly brilliant! His lectures were are always delivered to the highest standard. Tim was not only a brilliant lecturer but a great personal tutor to me. I would go to Tim when I needed advice, or to just rant about a difficult case I had been to while working as a Student Paramedic. After working my first cardiac arrest, and unfortunately not being able to resuscitate the patient, Tim went through the whole case with me, which allowed me to make sense of the situation and be able to accept what had happened."
