Key information for students following campus closures
For all of the latest updates and information on COVID-19, please head to staffsunion.com/covid19 and follow University information at staffs.ac.uk/comms/coronavirus.
A note from the University:
“We understand that the closure of the campus may present additional difficulties for students to complete their assessments remotely, such as access to certain library resources not available online, access to technical facilities and access to computing facilities.
Detailed work is now underway within each of our Schools to understand the impact on assessment activity. The primary focus will be on those students who are due to complete this year. Deans will be in contact with academic staff over the next few days with more information. However, remote teaching should continue as planned.
Given these exceptional circumstances, we have also made the decision that we will not seek accommodation fees for the final term from students in University-managed residences. Whilst students may have received a bill for these, they will not be progressed and Financial Services will be in contact with those students. We also have students in private accommodation, who will be advised to seek guidance on their accommodation position from their landlords.”
Regular updates are shared with students via the MyStaffsUni app and via the Students’ Union website.
