DIVERSITY FASHION SHOW 2018

 

Staffordshire University Students’ Union Diversity Fashion Show is returning in March 2018 – and we need you!
Do you want to gain some amazing experience alongside your degree, or just take part in something fun for a great cause?

Our annual Diversity Fashion Show is just one of the ways we demonstrate and celebrate the diverse range of people and cultures that come to study at Staffs. Not only is this a chance to see the latest trends and experience something different on campus, but this is also a chance to experience something new.

If you would like to get involved, we're currently looking for people with fresh ideas, skills and passion to help us develop and shape the event into the best Diversity Fashion Show yet!

WHAT WILL YOU GAIN?


The Diversity Fashion Show is great chance for you to develop your skills and gain experience, which will help to improve your CV. 
And most of all you will have fun.

PRODUCER / SHOW MANAGER
As the Producer (or show manager), you will be involved with co-ordinating key elements of the show, as well as overseeing other team members to create a successful event. From managing front of house to liaising with external parties such as Hair and Make-up Artists and Stylists.

 

CREATIVE DIRECTOR
The Creative Director will work closely with the Producer and will have co-responsibility for delivering the creative vision of the show. Within this role, you'll assist the Choreographer to assist in co-ordinating movement, music, catwalk themes and changes as well as thinking up creative ways to promote the event.

 

CHOREOGRAPHER
For this role, you’ll need a creative flair to plan the movement of models, to help achieve a professional look on stage and maintain the vision of the creative team. 

 

STAGE MANAGER

You will be responsible for the show’s staging - from planning to dress rehearsal and then the final show! Working closely with the creative team, you will keep the show running smoothy and ensure the correct running order of models and outfits, as well as liaising with the venue’s sound and lighting team. 

 

BACKSTAGE CREW

As a member of Backstage Crew you’l be in the thick of the action - during the show you’ll ensure that models are ‘stage ready’ before leaving the backstage area. Before and after the show you’ll also assist the rest of the team with dressing the venue (setting up and taking down).

 

FRONT OF HOUSE

You’ll be responsible for creating a great first impression. You'll need to look smart and act professional on the night to welcome attendees and ensure they are catered for. You'll also be involved with sourcing fundraising opportunities such as a raffle prizes and helping to raise money at the event itself.

 

RUNNERS

As a runner, you will help the tech crew in the build up to the show and liaise with lighting, sound and stage management to ensure that the event runs smoothy.

 

PRESENTERS x2 

The Presenters are responsible for creating a build up prior to the show, introducing different elements (such as models and catwalk outfits) and engaging with the audience. For this role you need to be confident, professional and friendly.
