How to Make Mini Eggs Rice Krispies Nests

Mini Eggs Rice Krispies Nests Recipe

Makes 12 - 15 Nests | studentengagement@staffs.ac.uk

This treat is perfect in time for Easter! With a mix of rice krispies, butter, chocolate and golden syrup, these nests will be a perfect home to your mini eggs for decoration! Proceed with caution...they're extremely moreish!

You will need:

  • A big mixing bowl

  • A big spoon

  • A saucepan

  • Muffin tin / Baking Tray

  • Cupcake cases (if using a baking tray)

Ingredients:

  • 200g Chocolate

  • 100g Unsalted Butter

  • 4 tbsp Golden Syrup

  • 100g Rice Krispies

  • 1 Bag of Mini Eggs

Step One:

Line your muffin tin or baking tray with cupcake cases (if using a muffin tin, you can simply grease the muffin tin with butter, however I find it easier to use cupcake cases).

Step Two:

In your mixing bowl, break up your chocolate, put in your butter and golden syrup and put over a pan of boiling water, stirring until everything has melted and combined. You can also melt your ingredients in the microwave on short bursts, stirring in between each burst.

Step Three:

Take your bowl off the heat and pour in your rice krispies. Give these a good mix until your rice krispies are fully covered by your chocolate mix.

Step Four:

Spoon out your chocolatey rice krispies mix evenly into the cupcake cases.

Step Five:

Top each nest with a couple of mini eggs.

Step Six:

Leave to set. If you want to speed the process up, pop them in the fridge! Once set, tuck in and enjoy this delicious Easter chocolatey treat!
