Come along to our Rest and Reset Lounges in the New Year! Every other Tuesday and Thursday.
Looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health. You don't think twice about visiting the hospital for a broken bone, and so you should try and have the same attitude towards your mental health. Sometimes it feels like you're the only person in the world struggling, that is not the case. 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year in England, and 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem in any given week. Mental health also encompasses your emotional, psychological, and social well-being and affects how you think, feel, and act. So needing some extra support to manage everything is nothing to feel ashamed of, and whilst it can sometimes feel like there is no one around to help, there is.
Staffordshire University Students' Union is proud to host The Rest and Reset Lounges which provide a safe and welcoming space for students where a mental health professional can provide help and support. It is happening every other Tuesday (in the Students' Union Board Room/September room) and Thursday (in Verve) from 6 pm until 8 pm, and with the officers regularly attending, it is a great place to be. With the opportunity to meet new people and a chance to have meaningful conversations, the Lounges offer that little glimmer of light you can often be looking for. So if you're looking for that little pick-me-up or want to chat with a professional, come along!
