Q. Why would you wash empty crisp packets?

A. To help the homeless stay warm in winter

Our wonderful volunteers at the Union have been busy this year cutting and washing empty crisp packets that have been donated to the recycling points in Leek Road & College Road shops.

We made another delivery last week to Macclesfield Crisp Blankets of 901 donated packets.

That's an amazing total of 1987 packets donated this academic year - enough to make 13 foil insulated bivvy blankets to help keep homeless people warm on cold nights.

Well done to eveyone that has donated, washed and packaged the packets.

Let's see if we can collect even more next year!
