Green Impact is NUS's Ethical & Environmental Accreditation scheme.
Delivered via SOS: Students Organising for Sustainability, the programme supports environmentally and socially sustainable practice within organisations across the globe and particularly within students' unions and universities.
The framework covers a wide range of criteria including:
- Operations
- Knowledge & Understanding
- Leadership & Strategy
- Partnership & Policy
- Campaigning & Influencing
- Outreach & Collaboration
And requires participating organisations to demonstrate commitments and positive outcomes both for the natural environment and for students.
Staffordshire University Students' Union has particpated in the programme for several years and is pleased to announce that with our 2022-23 submission we have maintained our Excellent Accreditation.
Our Green Impact work involves educating students on sustainability issues, providing opportunities for students to become involved in sustainability themed events and actvities, collaborating with local organisations on ethical and environmental issues and seeking out student views, perceptions and priorities relating to sustainability to inform both the work of the Students' Union and decisions taken by the university.
