Last night Staffordshire University pipped many other Universities to the award of 'Most Improved Student Experience' at the Times Higher Education Awards, hosted by comedian Al Murray.

Unlike the other categories which were selected by judges, this award was determined by the results of a Student Experience Survey by The Times.

The results, due to be published in 2018, showed that Staffordshire University had the largest improvement in its overall score compared with the previous year - with an improvement of around 4% compared to last year.

In the survey, 20,000 full-time undergraduates evaluated their experience at university at 21 different measures, which were all named by students as an important part of the university experience.

The judges as the awards said that Staffordshire University's rapid rise up the ranks was impressive:

"The University showed particular improvements on having high-quality staff and lecturers, a good Students' Union, excellent extracurricular and society activities and attractive accomodation."

A big well done to everybody involved within the University, Union and every student who helps to provide activities for others.
