Description

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. Happening every year, it’s a day for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives. We know the more conversations we have; the better life is for everyone. Talking about mental health isn’t always easy, but a conversation has the power to change lives.

World Wetlands Day aims to raise awareness about wetlands. This year’s theme is around the restoration of wetlands. Nearly 90% of the world’s wetlands have been degraded since the 1700s, and we are losing wetlands three times faster than forests. Yet, wetlands are critically important ecosystems that contribute to biodiversity, climate mitigation and adaptation, freshwater availability, world economies and more. A well restored wetland can provide many of the services performed by the original natural wetland.

By combining them in the form of a Walk and Talk in the Wetlands, we’re offering an opportunity to take time out from the working day to join likeminded colleagues for conversation and fresh air, to improve your wellbeing, while helping to look after our on-campus wetlands.

The walk will start and finish at The Catalyst to give you the chance to buy a hot drink and warm up. (Please remember your reusable cup if you are planning on buying a hot drink!).
