Description

Who should attend?

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

What you will learn?

The content of this course provides basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Assessing an incident
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty
  • CPR
  • Recovery Position
  • Choking
  • Seizures
  • Shock
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Minor injuries
  • Cuts, grazes and bruises
  • Minor burns and scalds

Course duration

One day (6 hours).

Assessment

Written assessment and continuous observation by the trainer.

Candidates need a basic command of English. So whilst we are often able to provide support to people who for example do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance, although we may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive a certificate which is valid for three years.

Looking for another date?

We appreciate that it can be difficult to find a course date that suits your studies, work and home life; so try to offer a range of dates with our most popular courses. The dates that the Emergency First Aid at Work course is available are:

Wednesday 25 September 2019

Friday 18 October 2019
