Hello!
My Name is Ari. I'm a film and media student, currently in my first year, and a member and games master of the Myth Society. You may have seen me around on the discord, I'm pretty active on there.
I'm applying to the position of Communications officer as I believe the committee should be active in the society they represent and have a good, outward facing image.
If I'm elected as Comms officer, I will be sure to help implement the following;
- Continuation from the previous committee - In my time in the society, I've had the pleasure of knowing the previous committee members. Their successes in keeping the society alive in the lockdown has been nothing short of a miracle and I would like to uphold their legacy. This means continuing weekly socials, frequent updates on happenings in with regards to the union and being active on the discord.
- Keeping Dungeon Legends running - Dungeon Legends has been a huge success as part of the Myth Society. It means that you can play D&D whenever you're available, which I believe to be a valuable part of the society.
- Boost social media precense - The Myth Society has both a Twitter and Facebook account. It is sorely underused and there is a lot of potential to promote the society as a whole, and not just events that happen. I would like to utilise these accounts to show what happens in and around the Myth Society.
Some of the other things I'd like to do for the Myth Society include;
- Myth apparel - In the same way that some courses and the university itself have their own hoodies, shirts and hats, my hope is that so too will the Myth Society.
- Inter-society activities - As Comms officer, I'd like to boost our inter-society presence. Maybe we have a joint social with the Yu-Gi-Oh Society, maybe a minecraft server with the Chess Society, as an example.
