Candidate for the position of Dance Club - Finance Officer

Jamie Sanders

Being part of SUDC for the last two years has been easily one of the most rewarding aspects of my uni experience. Not only has it given me the opportunity to reconnect with something I honestly forgot how much I love doing, but it's forced me out of my comfort zone on a number of occasions, and not once have I lived to regret it. When I think about how nervous I was to even approach the SUDC stand at the societies fair in my first year, the fact I'm now running for a committee role not even two years later is completely crackers. But it's a reflection of how SUDC has changed me, and it would be great to give something back to the society as a way of saying thank you.

While staying on top of all the necessary duties of Finance Officer is obviously important, societies can't run without members and I think the most important thing is that everyone feels comfortable and enthusiastic about coming to class each week. I'm not a judgemental person in the slightest and (if I'm selected as a committee member) will gladly listen to anyone's concerns, queries or suggestions about anything SUDC-related, to help make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

This year's committee have done so brilliantly to keep the society alive and kicking through such a naff year - whether competitions go ahead next year or not, I'm hopeful 2021-2022 will be another successful year for SUDC and I would love to be a part of that.
