#AccessibilityForAll

Neurodiverse Friendly Wellbeing spaces across all campuses.

  • Each campus should have at least one well-being space that is available 24/7.
  • Each space should be equipped with mental health resources and first aid kits.
  • Every Wellbeing Room should have a phone, with campus security and some crisis/advice line numbers saved.

Accessible funding for students who struggle with hidden costs of living.

  • Due to the cost of living, students have struggled to afford essentials and things that help manage their mental health, which is vital to thriving in a university environment.
  • I aim to create transparency about the student success support fund.
  • Funding dedicated to supporting students' mental health is essential, which will be one of my priorities.

Providing safe, inclusive, and affordable events for all students.

  • Wednesday afternoons should be timetabled off for clubs and societies, maintaining friendships and taking time away from studies is crucial to mental well-being.
  • Introducing a buddy system for societies, where current members can sign up to meet a student who is interested in joining a society but might not want to go alone or just have some questions before attending!
  • Running regular social events where the officer team can hear students' feedback in a casual environment, such as coloring clubs, coffee mornings and trips to parks/nature reserves across all campuses.

Focusing on supporting students through digital poverty.

  • Having a working mobile phone is essential to students' safety and education. No student should be expected to travel to and from campus without a method of contacting emergency services, a friend or safe-zone if needed.
  • I aim to create an environment where students can voice their concerns about how digital poverty is affecting them or how it may do so in the future and how the students union and university can support them.
