Within one of my current modules, I took up the role of Finance Officer to gain the experience of managing finances on a budget and looking at creating invoices for companies that we are collaborating with. With my skills of organisation, management and communication, I will ensure that every member of committee will get monthly updates of how our finances are looking throughout the year; as well as every month.
Points in which I want to take forward into the new year:
- Reviewing membership costs and competition costs
- Ingoings and outgoings of our finances within our current and fundrasier account.
- Look at hiring more external practice spaces like YMCA and gymnastic centres
- Purchasing more equipment
By me communicating this information, it gives other committee members ideas of future events that the society can do to better the experience for our members throughout the year. I believe, with the experience of being President for the past two years, I have a good knowledge of costings for the society which will be beneficial for new committee members joining into the society because I will be able to share my knowledge as well as aid them in the financial decisions for putting on events.
