Howdy My Fellow Trainers

For those who have met me during society meetings then you will properly know me as Ben, however in the wonderful world of Pokémon and other fictional landscapes I’m simply known as Benaki. Back in the dreaded real world I’m a second year FTVR student (Film, TV and Radio) whose biggest ambition is to someday become a successful scriptwriter/creator of a successful fantasy series.

Ever since a young age, Pokémon has become one of the biggest influences in becoming the person I’ve grown up to be today, from the generous feeding of imaginative creativity that I’ve gained from exploring all sorts of Pokémon related media to helping me to have the confidence socially to have similar adventures with like-minded people.

One of the biggest objectives that I would like to implement if elected is having a good level of consistency with inclusivity, I believe this to be important because I think that everyone has the power to enjoy something alongside other people in the correct respectable environment, I sincerely relate to this due to the fact that as I’ve always myself been too shy to express my interests in front of other people and I truly understand how it must feel to think you have to hide your niche hobbies when as a matter of fact I will make sure that I prioritise each society event to be something where students can express who they truly are and to simply have somewhere on a weekly basis where they can simply have fun.

In an addition to making sure that the society is inclusive to all types of individuals, I will always consider race, sexuality, gender, age, disability and religion to ensure that everyone has equal opportunities. one of my other aims as welfare officer is to gain feedback and interactive ideas for future events within the society. For this to be successful there should be an expected goal for within the society that everyone student will be able to speak up and not only to be listened to, but also heard so therefore all future events will be targeted towards the best interests of all members, I would be honoured to have the chance to work alongside my fellow society officers in the production and imaginative planning of tournaments and events that members of all abilities can equally join and engage throughout each semester. I actually have a lot of experience with working alongside young people through my history in scouting and I want to prioritise in continuing the things you guys love!

I wish to stress that if you ever need someone to talk to for whatever reason, then I promise to you that I am easily approachable and will happily sit down and listen to any of your concerns with the society or anything other personal agendas that you feel like you need to share.

Thank you for taking up your time to read this manifesto
