Its National Mammal Week, and there's no better time to be out and about recording mammals!
Our event is also part of the international City Nature Challenge with over 650 cities taking part.
We will be carrying out small mammal trapping, giving you a chance to see these amazing species up close, and also using tracks and signs surveys, to hone your tracking techniques.
This event will give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people and do something different.
Our event runs over 3 days from Friday 24th - Sunday 26th April 2026 and you can come for as much, or as little as you would like.
We will be surveying at Staffordshire University Nature Reserve, Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, so please dress appropriately for the weather -bring gloves and wear sturdy footwear. Please bring lunch if you are coming for the whole day on Sunday.
The meeting point for the start of each day is the Car Park by the three sports fields at the back of the Leek Road University Campus.
