So last week we had our Annual Members Meeting, this meeting was to discuss our year ending 22/23 finances, strategic goals, and Full time Officer updates both from the previous year and this academic year!

As a registered charity and incorporated organisation, your students union is required to hold an Annual Members Meeting each academic year.

It is an opportunity for the Trustees to present back their report on activities in the last academic year, and on the Union's finances.

It also provides an opportunity for students to ask questions of the Union's trustees and understand more about the work of the Union

Here are some of the highlights:

  • MH (Mental Health) first aid training for all wellbeing and inclusion officers for clubs and societies.
  • We helped 1117 students with 1151 cases.
  • Successfully established the period poverty campaign supplying free period products university wide.
  • Total income rose by 1.8% to £2.98M
  • Wage and salary costs increased by £64k in year, reflecting JNCHE* cost of living increase. (*JNCHE – Joint Negotiating Committee for Higher education)
  • Enterprises saw a 5% rise in income to £197K
