Information for anyone needing support over the University Closure period. 

Support available during spring break

For some students, a change in routine, structure, and support networks over the holidays can be daunting. We’ve included a quick summary of all the support still available to you through the spring break.

Current Students at the University can access a wealth of help and support services via the current student’s portal.

The Students’ Union offers a range of advice and support covering everything from money to housing help and much, much more. Find out more here.

ResLife office hours will be as follows:

• Monday 25- Thursday 28 March 2024: 12-3pm
• Tuesday 2 April 2024 until Thursday 4 April 2024: 9am-5pm
• Friday 5 April 2024: 9am-4:30pm

ResLife will be closed on Good Friday (29th March) and Easter Monday (1st April). Residential Support Coordinators are still available at their regular times.

SafeZone app - Download the SafeZone App for free, your personal safety and wellbeing assistant, which will let you summon first-aid, security or safety assistance via your mobile phone or PC.

Togetherall is available for free, 24/7 over the holidays. It’s an anonymous, online community for mental health support and there are no waiting lists to access the community. Join togetherall for free using your University email address.

Blackbullion is a free financial education platform for students that can help you grow your financial skills and manage your money. Sign up to Blackbullion for free today using your University email address to access all the resources, modules, webinars and much more.

Student Space has lots of resources and student stories available to you for any challenges that you might be facing, as well as free direct support services where you can contact their trained volunteers by:
• Texting ‘STUDENT’ to 85258, open 24 hours a day
• Messaging their online webchat service, open between 4pm-11pm every day
• Calling their phone support line on 0808 189 5260, open between 3pm-12am every day
• Emailing them at students@themix.org.uk, open 24 hours a day

Easter Building Open Hours

Good Friday (29 March), Saturday (30March) and Sunday (31 March), the Cadman building is open 24/7; the Catalyst building 5am - 10pm and Library Core, 7am - 10pm.

Electrical Shutdown's over the Easter period

Leek Road

From Monday 1 April 2024 until Friday 5 April 2024, electrical work will be undertaken on the University’s Leek Road site in Stoke-on-Trent. To enable this work to be safely carried out, buildings across the Leek Road site will be operating on revised hours throughout the week:

College Road

College Road site will be open as normal during this period providing areas for staff and students to work and study.

From Monday 8 April 2024 until Friday 12 April 2024, electrical works, will be taking place in the Mellor building on the University’s College Road site in Stoke-on-Trent. To enable this work to be safely carried out, buildings across the College Road site will be operating on revised hours throughout the week.

Network connectivity and access to the full digital Internet/central functionality will not be in place until 10am each day and will remain ‘at risk’ throughout.

Leek Road site will be open as normal during this period providing areas for staff and students to work and study.
