    St John Ambulance is the UK’s leading provider of first aid training. As a charity, our volunteers provide vital first aid cover for the public at national events like the London Marathon, and locally at football matches and festivals. St John Ambulance is also a youth organisation, many of our volunteers are under 25. We believe that it’s absolutely unacceptable that so many people die needlessly – because no one could give them first aid when they needed it.

We know that responding to emergencies is our first duty but we also recognise we can help prevent fires in the home and at work - so hopefully you'll never need to dial 999.

    Staffordshire Library Service has a network of 43 libraries throughout the county of Staffordshire. Libraries offer large number of services including access to books and other loanable items, free IT, Internet access and WiFi, events, activities and courses within libraries, eBooks, eMagazines and eAudiobooks. 23 libraries in Staffordshire are transferring to community management and will rely on volunteers for the day to day operation of these libraries. This will successfully embed these libraries further into their local communities and create some unique volunteering opportunities.

The Trust has a diverse workforce including site wardens, wildlife surveyors, community and education officers, catering and administration staff.

    Stoke-on-Trent Churches Community Night Shelter is working to provide a safe night’s rest to street homeless individuals within Stoke-on-Trent. We began with an initial conversation about the seemingly increasing homelessness we were witnessing in our city, and went on to run a hugely successful pilot project from January 2016-March 2016.We are currently working towards opening again for the 2016/2017 winter, hopefully building on the success of our pilot project and expanding our provision.
