Join us at our pre-arrival Skills Bridge welcome event (in-person), where we’ll be delivering a range of different informal sessions (see below for the full programme), aimed at preparing you for University life and higher education, so you can hit the ground running in your Staffordshire University journey.
Whether you're transitioning from school/college, or returning to education as a mature learner, this is a great opportunity to make sure you’re equipped with the academic, digital skills, and knowledge you’ll need to excel during your studies with us. You’ll also get the opportunity to meet support staff, and fellow students from a range of different courses, to make friends and connections before you even officially start your studies with us.
As these sessions are aimed at developing you as an independent learner, we are asking that you attend the sessions without any accompanying guests, unless absolutely necessary.
These sessions take place in Study Space 1 on the third floor of the Catalyst Building at our Stoke Campus. A member of staff will meet you in the Catalyst Entrance from 9.30am - they will have a register of those who have signed up for the event and will provide you with a visitors pass.(located on the ground floor of the Catalyst Building in the entrance) - Stoke Campus Map.
Here’s just a flavour of some of things you can expect to get up to as part of the day (breaks and refreshments provided throughout the day):
• Arrival, Welcome and Introductions
• Digital Skills
• University Language and Terminology
• Student Support Services
• Library and Academic Resources
• Tips on becoming a confident independent learner

• Opportunity to tour our campus for anyone who’s not yet been able to join us on-campus
