Esports is a community that's often misunderstood. Many people assume that video games are a solitary activity. But aside from being a form of entertainment, esports has also been recognized for its potential to raise awareness and funds for important causes, such as mental health. Through the power of online gaming, we can come together to raise awareness and funds for mental health causes.
Through the power of online gaming, we can come together to raise awareness and funds for mental health causes.

Mental health is a crucial aspect of our overall well-being, yet it is often overlooked and stigmatised. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. This highlights the need for more awareness and support for mental health, and esports can be a platform to achieve that.
To address this issue, FF15, a Staffordshire University, student-led Esports organisation are proud to announce our upcoming Esports fundraising event with Gaming the Mind for mental health.
On Thursday, 13th April from 10am in Beacon T204, join us for a day of esports tournaments, giveaways, and more, all to benefit our mental health charity, Gaming the Mind. All proceeds from the event will be donated to our chosen charity which is dedicated to supporting mental health and providing resources to those in need.
In-person attendees can enter a raffle to win a DINOBLT-030 Dino Aardonyx AMD Ryzen 5 5600g Pre-Built Gaming PC, generously provided by our sponsor, Stone Group!
Winners of the VALORANT wingman competition will receive a free meal and drink from Geek Retreat Hanley, another one of our proud sponsors!
The online event will be held via Twitch and will feature a VALORANT tournament and casual games such as Gangbeasts, Multiverses and Plate up. Participants in the VALORANT will have the opportunity to compete against each other for a prize, while also supporting mental health. In addition to the tournaments, there will be few speakers from BSc Psychology to discuss mental health and provide guidance to the audience.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Gaming the Mind. By watching this event, you will not only have fun, but you will also be contributing to a good cause and making a difference in someone's life.
We believe that everyone deserves access to the resources and support they need to maintain good mental health. That's why we're proud to partner with Gaming the Mind to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.
Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just someone who wants to make a difference, we hope you'll join us for this exciting charity fundraising event. Together, we can help break down the stigma surrounding mental health and promote a more supportive and inclusive community for all.
