During your time at Staffs, you have the opportunity to get involved with any number of societies to match your interests, or even start new ones. On this page, you can browse all of the different student led clubs and societies, and join up so you can start getting involved.

    Clubs

    This past year, our sports teams have had a change in infrastructure, meaning the University is now providing better development and coaching for all players. We’re now building a new winning culture at Staff and you can be a part of it.

    We have loads of sports here, everything from Football and Netball to Ultimate Frisbee and Pole Dancing, so see what takes your fancy below and make sure your come to the Welcome Fair and Sports Trials to be a part of Team Staffs.

    Dance & Cheerleading

    The Robot. Body Popping. Saturday Night Fever. If you're into your dance, then joining one of these clubs is for you. There's always Cheerleading or Pole arts if you're not that boogie-inclined.

    Extreme Sports

    Far out. If adrenaline is your forte and you consider yourself a bit extreme, take a look at what we've got on offer from Kayaking all the way to Skydiving. We can't promise you won't get a little nervous.

    • Mountaineering Club

      SUMC: Staffs Uni Mountaineering Club can teach you the skills to enjoy rock climbing, hiking and much more! We have climbing and walking trips with experienced leaders, and sessions on our uni wall!

    • Skydiving Club

      Welcome to the skydiving club! One of the best, most thrilling extreme sports out there. Check out this page for information, prices and safety

    • Snowsports Club

      SUSC is a club designed to bring people together who share an interest in snowsports, regardless of ability.

    Indoor Sports

    Fancy yourself as the next Kobe Bryant or Ronnie O'Sullivan? We have a number of Indoor Sports, from Basketball to Cue Sports. There's a range of things you can do indoors at Staffs, so get involved.

    Martial Arts

    Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Walk out into the Octagon and hear the roar of the crowd. If you fancy yourself as a big shot in UFC's future, check out our Martial Arts clubs.

    Outdoor Sports

    The Great Outdoors. Being exposed to the elements. Playing football in the rain. Playing golf in the wind. We've got a wide range of outdoor sports for you to sink your teeth into.

    Racket Sports

    Fill the gap between Wimbledon each year by becoming the number one player on campus, or take up Badminton, or Table Tennis. The choice is yours.

    Water Sports

    Michael Phelps has nothing on you. If you feel more at home in the water than you do on land, then Water Sports might be something for you. It's also a great way to keep fit during term time.

    • Swimming Club

      The swim team at Staffs Uni welcomes swimmers of all abilities, organises meet ups outside the sport and offers training to improve skills and speed.

    Societies

    Societies are student run groups that offer students the opportunity to continue their hobbies, learn new skills, meet like-minded people and get the most out of your Staffs experience.

    Societies are one of the best ways to open yourself up to new opportunities, gain new skills and maybe even learn more about yourself.

    Academic

    Education makes the world turn. Academic Societies are a great way to meet people with similar interests and make sure your CV looks great in terms of extra-curricular activities.

    Activities & Games

    There's a bunch of societies dedicated to Video Games and eSports, as well as activities like Poker, Slotcar racing and Nerf guns. If you're looking to be entertained on campus, these societies are the place to be.

      The Board Game Society is a group of people that love table top games. Everyone is welcome regardless of the amount of experience you have, whether you've played 1 game, or 100.

    • DOTA 2 Society

      We play spooky games and scare ourselves silly

    • Video Games Society

    Arts, Media and Music

    We have two student media groups, as well as a load of creative people banding together for one cause: to create! If you think your imagination is exactly what makes you who you are, these societies could be for you.

    Awareness & Campaigns

    Politics, Mental Health, Sustainability. They're all important. If you believe in something deeply and want to meet others who do too, then these societies are your cup of tea.

    Cultural & International

    Feeling a part of your culture is important when you move away from home. But these societies are also great for learning new things about cultures that you've got an interest in. Anybody is welcome!

    Faith & Religion

    Just like culture, feeling at one with your faith is important. These societies give you the chance to meet people who share your faith and feel at home. Once again though, you don't have to be a part of the faith to join.

    Special Interest & Appreciation

    Are you a huge fan of something a bit niche? There's bound to be others on campus that love what you do. From Football Hipsters to Theme Parks, there's a special interest for everyone.
